Quick Hand Studies

I've been painting a bit of quick hand studies, only 25minute poses. So often I paint head studies and figures but never seem to have enough time to get to the hands. I guess I'm also sort of preparing for a workshop this January with Clayton J. Beck III at the Palette & Chisel. Its given me incentive to really understand the shapes and characteristics of the hand.

Great job on the hands Marci! Your work gets better and better all the time. I also like the little landscape you posted a couple of weeks ago.

One of the best ways to study hands (and feet) is to draw or paint your own. Just need a larger mirror. or you can do it the social way, which is more fun, but also more expensive.

Thanks Brian,

I've tried sketching my left hand as I draw with my right but never thouht of painting it, and looking through a mirror. What a great Idea. I'll give it a try.

Oh and the feet thing, well I may leave that one be for just a little while.
